Opening a beer with an old navy baseball hat

My Buddy Bob loves to open Beer bottles with random things and while we were on the boat for the 4th of July he had already opened one with a water soaker toy so I challenged him with using his Old Navy Flag baseball hat.

He accepted the challenge and instantly popped the top off of his Sam Adams beer bottle, and of course I did not have my camera ready, though I made him do it again and got it on film!

Are you an attractive character in your business?

I am not talking about being someone who it model worthy to be on the cover of GQ magazine or People’s 50 most beautiful people each year.

Being attractive can present itself in many ways and the quicker you do it the better.  We are talking about letting people know about you right from the get go, especially if they are on your subscriber list and will be getting an instant follow up email series.

It is time to SHARE YOUR STORY!

Chances are when you are more open, you are going to have more people like you as well as buy from you over time, which is the name of the game in online marketing.  Sales!

Russell Brunson shared some of his top attractive character tips and strategies at the Pure Leverage Freedom live event in the fall of 2013 that apply regardless of when you are reading this.

I want to share some of the gems from inside the event and will also let you know how YOU can get the full recordings of not only Russell Brunson’s speech, but also get hot tips from other speakers, which included, but are not limited to Daegan Smith, Mark Call, Joel Peterson, Joel Therien, Michelle Alpha Pescosolido, Jackie Ulmer and others.

When starting out we always want to improve our subscribers knowledge about US.  Yes, this is where you want to tell them a little about yourself to be able to develop a relationship with them.

Whether you have been online for 1 day or 1 decade, share a story that can also relate to a problem you might have experience which could be something they are experiencing as well.

Do not forget that we are not perfect either, so share your warts and all (so to speak) and what you might be totally for or totally against when it comes to your opinions on certain things, or happenings in society.

When communicating with your list of subscribers or your followers you want to be able to keep things interesting on a day to day basis.  This does not mean you need to continue sharing your personal moments in every email as that could get awkward, though sharing now and again will show that you are human and care about basic things in life.

Russell Brunson also shared having a “soap opera” series or sequence of follow up emails with 3 or more to not only develop the know, like and trust factor, but to also keep the readers suspense levels heightened so they are anticipating the next update and read to open your future emails to find out what happens in the conclusion.

He then suggests following these up with a series of emails related to anything, or nothing at all…for example let them know what you were doing or thinking when you went looking for a new pair of sneakers and maybe what it was that got you to make the purchase when all was said and done.

You can always then leave the last portion of your email for a call to action, which might bring the reader to your blog, fanpage, sales page or similar.

The important thing to do is to keep taking action and share your “attractive character” from Day 1!

As I continue to dive through my old notes from the original Pure Leverage live event I came across Daegan Smith’s speech on Getting Traffic to your website and turning it into cash.

AS he said, “If you have the right audience, you can never go broke!”

The big issue of course is getting that audience there AND keeping them entertained.

For that of course you would need a capture page and more importantly a system to capture emails on that page (or other contact information) to be able to engage with and follow up with your subscribers.

That is where Pure Leverage and their awesome tools come in.

You still have to be able to drive traffic to your site so lets hit upon some of the key aspects of what he shared with us which are pretty consistently bringing sales to marketers worldwide and in many niches.

One of the biggest questions is whether to go Paid or Free in the marketing and groups will argue which is better and more lucrative.  If you want it fast, Paid would be the way to go and test your content.  If you can be more patient, and wait for organic results, you can focus on free methods.

On your lead capture page you want the viewer to feel safe, but at the same time curious and wanting more so that they are willing to give you their email address (note: the less you ask for the more they are willing to give and once they become a paying customer, they will provide their details anyways, especially if you have to ship them a physical product).

If you think about your own mindset the last time you bought something, take some of those same aspects and put them into your own follow ups.  For example, what was it that made you want to BUY NOW!  Take that same idea and tweak it to fit your pages.

You want to be able to always see if you can compete with your own pages to see if they will bring better conversion rates, and having or running a split test if the way to go.  You would send half of your traffic to site A and the other half to site B and see which one gets a better click through rate and/or ROI, or return on investment to see which one you want to spend more time and effort on.

These are some of the ways to drive paid traffic:

  • Solo Ads
  • Banner Ads
  • Pay Per Click

These are some free methods of driving traffic:

  • Youtube
  • Blog
  • Article writing

Having a balance of both is great, though at least get the free options up and running when you first get started online as you never know what people will search for through google, bing, yahoo and other search engines.

So I am going back over my old notes from the original Pure Leverage live event from the fall of 2012.  The latest live event is happening in San Antonio, TX as I write this, though I was unable to attend due to coaching lacrosse (as I have two games this week and my 13th anniversary!)

I had the chance to listen to Roger Dagenais speak about the idea of giving stuff away in order to build a client basis.  By giving away huge value up front, even before asking for a single thing in return, you are going to be winning the trust of many new people who will want to work with you.

Some of the key points Roger Dagenais made reference relationship building and seeking out what other MLM, or multi level marketing people are using to build their businesses in other niches.

Too often you see people using the same auto generated or standard websites that get blended in with the masses of other members and all the websites look the same.

Many of these same people looking to start a home business are also going about it wrong and not collecting leads correctly to develop a relationship and continue to provide high quality support and suggested tools to.  If they do not have a good lead generation website on their hands, they are often wasting their time and efforts as they might get traffic to their site, but do not collect the leads for future follow up.

How to get more free traffic from what you already do online

When I was at the first Pure Leverage Live event in the fall of 2013, I was able to see Bill McIntosh, of JobCrusher speak and his topic was relating to “How to get more free traffic from what you already do online”

I had been making videos and adding images to my blogs and for my marketing for sometime, however realized I was leaving some important things out.  Bill McIntosh shared some tips on things you can do or tweak to your current marketing plans that will help bring even more free traffic to your websites.

For starters, being able to improve your SEO, or search engine optimization is going to help, especially if you are doing Youtube videos as Google of course owns them and will often give higher rankings for videos on the first page of a search for a video than something that might have otherwise outranked it due to only being a blog or basic website.

The more you can give the search engines, the better chance people will find you when they do a random search.  If you are doing a blog post and adding an image like I did above, you want to make sure that you provide keyword and related and relevant content to the image when wordpress asks for things like title, description, alternative text etc.

The search engines eat this stuff up and spit it back out in the form of more traffic to your site as you climb the rankings.

Bill McIntosh in his “How to get more free traffic from what you already do online” speach also gave us tips on how to properly add descriptions to our Youtube Videos.  Honestly, how many times have you seen a video on youtube and they did not even have ONE WORD in their description.  Talk about wasted opportunities.

One thing he suggested was to actually get a trasncript of the video and post that as your description because the search engines can not scan videos to know what they are about outside of the title phrases or possibly any annotations that might be listed in the videos.  By adding a content and keyword rich description to your videos you will be able to rank higher in the search engines, again bringing more traffic opportunities to your site.

Regardless of how the traffic is getting there make sure you are collecting the leads when they do show up so you can follow up with them as well to help them or solve their problems (which is why they were most likely searching on the internet in the first place!)
