Trust Funnel by Brian G Johnson

Trust Funnel by Brian G. Johnson

TrustFunnel

This past August, I traveled down to Orlando, FL, to take part in the Marketing Mayhem event and had the pleasure of listening to Brian G. Johnson.  He was not actually one of the presenters, though he played in integral part of the weekend as he took part in the pre-event VIP Q & A session and was well versed as a respondent with many of the speakers, often releasing sign s of humor to keep the crowd lively.

While there, he also gave out a copy of his book, Trust Funnel, and signed it for those in the crowd, and I have been going through it little by little the past two weeks or so, finally finishing it over Thanksgiving break…Oh wait, that is a lie as I still have to go online to access the hidden chapter!  The learning continues to live on for sure and this is a huge marketing lesson and one I want to add into my existing book in the lacrosse niche as well as others I produce in the future.

Huge Marketing Lesson With Trust Funnel by Brian G. Johnson

The whole idea about leaving a chapter out, causes greater engagement in the viewer and builds your list.  Especially if you purchased the book through Amazon (as you can below) you might not be in touch with Brian G. Johnson, though the book acts as a huge call to action to get the missing chapter and thus opt into subscriber base, which will allow him to teach more, engage more and develop know, like and trust more, all while also being able to promote other products and services to the list down the road.

As someone who has been building his business online part time for a few years now, a lot of this book was full of content that I am familiar with, though that does not mean it it any less important.  It is always beneficial to refresh what you know as well as get ideas of presenting things in another way to keep things interesting in growth, so there will be some ideas I will be able to implement, especially in his steps laid out in regards to blogging.  You can always learn something new and get something useful.

If you are just starting out in online marketing, then I would highly recommend his book as he does go in to great detail about the steps needed to really get started online in today’s marketplace.

How I made half a million dollars in t-shirt sales with John Cornetta at Marketing Mayhem 2014

How I made half a million dollars in t-shirt sales with John Cornetta at Marketing Mayhem 2014

John Cornetta T-shirt salesJohn Cornetta plays big when it comes to marketing.

Having been in the business for many years, he knows a thing or two, so when he speaks you should listen.  It was a perfect combination for me seeing that I have been looking to hear him speak for a while and wanted to add a t-shirt option in to my future sales in both marketing and specifically the lacrosse niche (where I have a couple products and a subscriber base as well)

In his speech John Cornetta shared what he did with the TeeSpring software to earn a half million dollars in t-shirt sales using some basic as well as focused efforts which I am going to highlight here:

  1. Find a market
  2. Create a shirt
  3. Create a fanpage
  4. Set up and launch facebook ads linked with Teespring retargeting

You really can sell just about anything on a t-shirt and he suggest that you check your pride and ego at the door and sell what the market wants and not just what you want.

2 Points of Interest

If you can find 2 points of interest you are on your way to success.  What he meant here was that if you can match a couple variable or targets, you will be better off in your chances for success.  Things like gender, parents, grandparents, sports and sports teams, professions, hobbies etc. are all things you can cross-reference to improve your chances of hitting the interests of a greater part of the population.

Creating the Fanpage and Facebook Ad

It is suggested to never use a right side ad for this fanpage as it will not show your t-shirt image as well as a news feed image will.  John Cornetta likes to run 7 shirts at a time instead of one shirt and waiting a full week to 10 days to see if it is profitable before starting a new one.  This way you can quickly see what is working or not and do not waste months in the process.

The goal in the beginning is to see if you can break even between advertising cost and t-shirt profits, while building up the likes and engagement on the fanpage, which means that you can later promote other products and shirts to them at a later time and improve your ROI, or return on investment.

In order to improve the growth of the fanpage, he suggests always using Post Page Engagement or PPE and never mentions the price of the shirt in his ad, which if only charge when someone clicks the “like” button.  He will also bring them back to the Fanpage after a sale to like it, or buy other shirts they may be interested in.

John Cornetta will also scale up his efforts with the help of VA’s or virtual assistants as he trains them and they know how to make the engagement greater and the sales start to improve while he is working on other products…Like his OWN T-shirt and printing company called Tee Gear, which is launching soon!

If you just can not wait for TeeGear and want to get started with your shirt production you can join TeeSpring by clicking here: http://Thedavidgardner.com/TeeSpring

Wealth and freedom living the laptop lifestyle with Daven Michaels at Marketing Mayhem 2014

Wealth and freedom living the laptop lifestyle with Daven Michaels at Marketing Mayhem 2014

Daven Michaels Marketing Mayhem

Having stayed up late one night at a previous marketing event chatting in the hallway of a hotel down in Long Island, NY and getting to know Daven Michaels a little, I was excited to learn that he was also going to be speaking at the JV Zoo Marketing Mayhem 2014 event in Orlando Florida that took place in August 2014.

We both belong the the Mike Filsaime mastermind and one of the awesome parts about that as well as this event is the ability to get together with leaders and get to know them on a personal level as well as learn some awesome strategies that they are using to continuously grow their businesses.

Daven Michaels main company, 123 Employee, is based on the whole idea of outsourcing, which amounts to having other people do things to free up your time so that you can do things you want to focus on or enjoy doing.  These could be simple things like keeping your email inbox clean and forwarding you the most pressing email questions in a summary email, or uploading videos and sharing them on the net.

There really is a lot you can do with outsourcing, though you still want to find a happy balance in engaging with others so people can still get to know you.

One of the key points he made in regards to growing a business was the idea that you should not work with people who do not have money.  This is obvious as they will never be able to grow their businesses as well.  It would not be very easy for someone to promote your product the correct way if they have not invested in their education and correctly set up advertising…which of course costs money!

One social media strategy that was shared by Daven Michaeals which is just one piece of the puzzle which has lead him to wealth and freedom living the laptop lifestyle is using LinkedIn networker groups.  He shared some of the key outsourcing steps that his team takes to develop relationship and set him up with appointments of people who are vested into their growth and want to continue to improve:

  • Add contacts in the group
  • Search the network for prospects
  • Send them messages sharing your mutual goals and getting to know them
  • Ask for referrals
  • Post articles/valuable content in the group
  • Start conversations with meaning
  • Post questions related to your field
  • Help to manage groups

With a little help in training your outsources, you could easily be working on your passions as some basic and sometimes tedious work gets accomplished for just a few dollars per hour.

You can find out more about outsourcing through his book, Outsource Smart, which you can pick up on Amazon or by clicking the banner below.

Kick Butt Video Promotion Strategies by Todd Gross at Marketing Mayhem 2014

Kick Butt Video Promotion Strategies by Todd Gross at Marketing Mayhem 2014

Todd Gross Video marketing tips

How well are you putting YOUR face in front of your customers when you sell other peoples products?  Not at all possibly?  Too often online marketers take the easy way out and just post random links to stuff on their Facebook or social media profiles in an attempt that someone might click on it and make a sale.

All that does is build up the other persons brand and not your own.  You need to put YOUR face in front of the group to be able to have people get to know you and build your own list at the same time while make some sales too.

One of the key take away’s from Todd Gross was that you need to promote other peoples products like they are your own.  Ironically enough, earlier in the week I had spent a day with Higher Level Strategies, which is Omar and Melinda Martin’s company and they had the same ideas as they have also become affiliate kings and queens in the marketing world.

One thing you want to create is a sort of video waiting room where the viewer gets to know YOU!  This way, if they click on a link or banner from a website, they see YOU first before going to the actual sales page and hopefully you send them to a LCP, or Lead Capture Page first, then to the video of you, followed by a call to action to head to the next page where they will find out about what it is you are sharing with them or suggesting to them that can help solve their problems.

This is also called a >>bridge page and you can see an example of one I created here<<

Anatomy of a video sales promotion

Here are some of the key ideas that Todd Gross shared about making a top selling video sales presentation

  • Give them what they want…find a hole or something that is missing and provide it in the video
  • Develop a secondary product that fills a need (could be an extra video series, pdf, audio)
  • Find out objectives ahead of time through surveys, webinars, forum questions (to see where help is needed)
  • Insert your video between your followers and the product
  • Only promote 1 thing at a time to your list
  • Provide bonuses that cover gaps or where the product does not meet subscribers needs
  • Tell and tease with your headlines…just give them a hint of the solution
  • State the problem and the solution in the video…or how the product will solve the problem
  • Be conversational and run through your copy/script beforehand to make sure it is smooth
  • Use a teleprompter if available…or ad lib if you do not have one
  • Show the solution…Do not just tell what it does, but show yourself using the product, for example
  • Tell a story and captivate your audience…Connect, captivate and Isolate them from the competition.
  • Speak as though you are one on one in a room with them. (No hey guys!)
  • Keep your background uncluttered
  • Use Powerpoint and screen capture if you are not confident yet, but have a great picture of yourself so people know who you are
  • Use scarcity and urgency…only so long left or so many copies left for bonuses etc.
  • Trust and transparency: Do not be afraid to mention negatives if they exist.
  • Provide more incentives to buying or bonuses!  Real bonuses like gift cards work well
  • Make sure all text and graphics are clear and easily support the video
  • Be a leader, but do not talk over the viewers head…especially if you have a lot of new marketers
  • Have a clear call to action that gets THEM thinking that they need the product now.

As with any action taking in your business, you could really take any combination of the above strategies and implement them into your next video waiting room or promotion so that viewers get to know you better.  This should be a must to incorporate into website traffic from people who do not know who you are yet.  Getting them to know your face is a great place to start building rapport and if you did the right thing to capture their email along the way, you can then follow up with them and build your relationship even more, while creating sales at the same time as they follow through your funnel.

So take action now and click this link right here to see how I set up my Waiting room/bridge page to have some of the above items!

7 P’s to a Perfect Product Launch with Aidan Booth at Marketing Mayhem 2014

7 P’s to a Perfect Product Launch with Aidan Booth at Marketing Mayhem 2014

Aidan Booth shares 7 P's to a perfect launch

At the Marketing Mayhem Live 2014 event in Orlando, Florida, the first speaker we were blessed with with Aidan Booth, who has done a few million in sales using the JV Zoo Platform (if you are not using this to promote products or launch your own, you can register for free here: http://TheDavidGardner.com/JVZoo )

Aidan Booth presented 7 ways that have helped him have this success and I want to give you an inside look at some of the things you should be doing in your marketing to help with your product launches as well.

  1. Product Super Power
  2. Positioning
  3. Pages
  4. Pre-Launch
  5. Partners
  6. Profit Maximizers
  7. Platform

Product Super Power: This is where your product gets your customer over their lack of confidence of past failures in something and include training of the “How to” variety and may also include software and tools that help them do the job easier, or a done for you component

Positioning: This is where you convey yourself appropriately and create a product that is at least worth 4 times what you are charging for it, and that they think that it is a “No Brainer”

Pages: You have to have the right set up in your funnel.  If you are using video, make it big and have the buy button always open in a new window.  Aidan suggests having it always present if you are new, though not revealing it as a drop down until later if you are a more seasoned marketer and never revealing the price in the video, but only in the cart, which I thought was very interesting and will be causing me to re-create some of my previous videos for sure.

Pre-Launch: The main idea here was that the higher the price of the item, the longer the pre-launch should be.

Partners: As Brian G. Johnson put it, you want to “focus on making your JV partners as much money as possible” though keep in mind that partners are useful, though should not be considered as an essential requirement of your success.  You need to consider their calendar and availability and make sure your products do not contradict their products.  He also suggested getting them to commit to at least 4 mailings through the launch including the original page, webinars, webinar replay and last day/closing cart date.  One of the biggest pieces of advice he has with partners was to connect with as many leaders at live events to get to know them better.

Profit Maximizers: These are things that will bring in more value and more sales and include webinars, replays and retargeting so that your customers keep seeing your material and having opportunities to purchase.

Platform: As could be predicted, you need to have a marketing tools system that can help process the sales, pay the affiliates and provide instant access to a product.  The JV Zoo platform is one of the fastest growing with over $80 Million in sales in under 3 years and is free to set up to promote your own products as a vendor, or promote other peoples products as an affiliate.

If you have already registered your free account with the Zoo…you can do that right here and list your first product or search for ones that you feel you would like to promote to your social network or subscriber base.

Even if you are not launching a product right now, these are ideas that you can start to easily implement into your overall marketing to help you grow your brand and your business.
